# How do I create and share flashcard decks?

This article explains how to create, edit, study and share your own flashcard decks.
---

## Creating a new deck

1. Click **Create** in the sidebar and choose **Create a flashcard deck**
2. You'll be asked how you'd like to build it - choose **Create manually**
3. Add a **title** and **description**
4. Choose whether your deck is **shareable** or **clonable** by others

|| Prefer to let our AI do the first draft? Choose **Generate with AI** instead, and see [how do I create flashcards using AI?](/en/article/how-do-i-create-flashcards-using-ai-oawh2t/)
---

## Adding cards to your deck

Once your deck exists, click **Add card** to start adding flashcards. Each card has a **front** and a **back**. Without an active plan, each deck can hold up to 100 cards.

If you get stuck on the back of a card, click **Suggest with AI (0.5 credits)** and we'll draft it from what you've written on the front. This needs an active [plan](https://app.geekymedics.com/purchase/bundles/), plus the AI credits.
---

## Studying your deck

Your decks live under **My decks** - click **Flashcards** in the sidebar, then [My decks](https://app.geekymedics.com/flashcards/personal/).

Click a deck to open its setup page, where you can:

* **Study** the deck, choosing all cards, new cards only, or cards you previously got wrong
* **Share** the deck with others
* **Edit** existing cards or add new ones
---

## What's the difference between shareable and clonable?

**Shareable** lets other people study your deck from a link you send them. **Clonable** goes a step further and lets them take their own copy, which they can then edit without affecting yours.
