# How do I set up group practice mode for stations and circuits?

Group Practice Mode allows you to practise OSCE stations with others, either in person or remotely. It is available for every OSCE station in our station bank.

Group Practice Mode is **not compatible** with virtual patients or virtual examiners.

|| To use Group Practice Mode, you need a minimum of **two people**: one candidate and one examiner (who can also act as the patient).

---

## How to set up group practice mode for a single station

1. Open the OSCE station you wish to practise
2. On the **‘How would you like to practise this station?’** screen, choose **Group practice**
3. Share the **Session PIN** or **Join link** with your study partners, or ask them to scan the QR code. They can also join using **Join group practice** in the sidebar
4. Assign roles (candidate, examiner, patient, or observer) using the dropdown menu
5. Click **Start group practice**
6. Everyone will be redirected to the appropriate screen for their role (e.g. the candidate sees candidate instructions, the patient sees the patient script, etc.)
7. If you’re practising remotely, use Zoom or another video tool so you can hear each other - or use our built-in **chat room**, linked in the same panel

## How to set up group practice mode for an OSCE circuit

1. Open **Circuits** in the sidebar and find the circuit you want to practise
2. Click **Start circuit**, then choose **Group practice**
3. Share the **Session PIN** or **Join link** with your study partners, or ask them to scan the QR code
4. Assign roles (candidate, examiner, patient, or observer) using the dropdown menu
5. Click **Start group practice** - everyone will be redirected to the relevant page based on their role
6. If you’re practising remotely, don’t forget to set up Zoom or open our chat room
7. At the end of each station, the examiner moves everyone on to the next station in the circuit. You’ll be offered the chance to reassign roles as you go

## What happens if the host leaves?

If the person who started the session disconnects, another member of the group can take over as host so you can carry on practising.
