How do I create flashcards using AI?

You can use our built-in AI assistant to help create flashcards and flashcard decks.

Generating a flashcard deck

Click Create in the sidebar, choose Create a flashcard deck, then Generate with AI - or go straight to the flashcard deck generator
Under Tell us about your deck, describe the topic(s) you'd like it to cover
Choose the number of flashcards to generate - 10, 20, 30, 40 or 50
Optional: upload a PDF to guide the content (maximum file size 10MB)
Click Generate deck

The form shows your total cost in AI credits as you change the options. Your finished deck is saved to your personal decks, where you can edit any card just like one you wrote yourself.

How much does it cost?

Generating a deck	1 AI credit per 10 flashcards
Uploading a PDF	2 extra AI credits

So a 30-card deck costs 3 credits, or 5 credits if you upload a PDF alongside it. There's no free allowance, so you'll need credits on your account to generate a deck.

Generating individual flashcards

Our AI can write the back of a flashcard based on what you put on the front.

Type your question or prompt into the Front section
Click Suggest with AI (0.5 credits) beneath the Back section

This feature needs an active plan, as well as the 0.5 AI credits per suggestion.
