How to use the OSCE stations platform for solo practice
Our OSCE station platform is great for practising alone! You can manage your own practice, or you can use our virtual patients and examiners to build your skills.
When you open an OSCE station, you have a few different options! You can individually access the patient, candidate, and examiner instructions by selecting those buttons.
If you would prefer to see all of the relevant information on one page, select the single player mode:
The patient instructions will be hidden behind a dropdown menu, and the examiner checklist and questions will be available when you scroll down. The diagnosis will remain hidden unless you click to reveal.
You have the option of using the timer.
You can test yourself using the Viva questions (the answers will be revealed when you select the toggle), and you can mark yourself using the checklist.
When you end the session, you will be able to review your own feedback.
Our AI-driven virtual patients are ideal for enhancing your communication skills! Our virtual patients are available to all users. These patients will converse with you in history-taking or counselling stations. You can read more about accessing the virtual patients here. For our most realistic experience, you can purchase AI credits which allow the virtual patient to use their spoken voice to communicate with you, rather than typing.
Along with practising with our virtual patients, our virtual examiners can give you feedback! They will make you against an OSCE checklist, and will also provide individual constructive feedback about your communication skills- find out more here.
If solo practice isn't your thing, we've got you covered! See here for how to link up with other students to practice your skills together.
